The Norman Lamps F30T8-BL is a 30W T8 Black Light (White) fluorescent tube designed to emit UVA radiation centered at 350nm. Measuring 36.0 inches in length and 1.00 inch in diameter, this linear fluorescent lamp fits standard G13 medium bi-pin sockets and is rated for an average of 9000 life hours of reliable UV output. The tube produces a characteristic light purplish glow when energized, making it straightforward to distinguish from standard visible-light fluorescent lamps during installation and operation.
As a Black Light (White) fluorescent type, the F30T8-BL transmits UVA energy while allowing some visible light to pass through the tube envelope, unlike black glass Black Light Blue variants which block most visible output. This makes the lamp well suited for a wide range of applications across industrial, commercial, entertainment, and scientific settings. Common uses include quality inspection, fluorescent leak detection, nondestructive testing, insect attraction in bug-zapper and flylight fixtures, curing of UV-reactive plastics and varnishes, and decorative or theatrical blacklight effects where fluorescent materials are illuminated.
