This halogen infrared lamp is coated with Norman Lamps' high-temperature PFA Tuff-Coat shatter resistant treatment, a polytetrafluoroethylene-based protective layer that contains glass fragments in the event of breakage. This coating is specifically engineered to withstand the elevated surface temperatures inherent to infrared heat lamp operation, making it well suited for food warming equipment, heat tunnels, buffet stations, and similar food service fixtures.

As a double envelope halogen infrared lamp, this product delivers radiant heat with its highest energy peaks in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum (770 nm to 1 mm). The lamp is classified as an infrared lamp under applicable federal definitions, with a rated wattage of 150W and a primary purpose of providing heat. It is excluded from the U.S. Department of Energy General Service Incandescent Lamp (GSIL) definition and is therefore a DOE exempt item. The lamp is fully dimmable and reaches full output instantly with no warm-up period required.
