Norman Lamps, Inc.

Norman Lamps offers a range of fluorescent black light tubes designed for applications where ultraviolet light is needed rather than standard visible illumination. These lamps are commonly used in entertainment venues, theatrical lighting, displays, inspection equipment, insect-control systems, and other specialty applications. Fluorescent black light tubes are available in several lengths and wattages, making them useful for both compact fixtures and larger commercial installations.

A fluorescent black light works by producing ultraviolet radiation, primarily in the UVA range, through the same general discharge process used in standard fluorescent lamps. Instead of being designed to produce normal white light, the phosphor coating and glass construction are selected to emit ultraviolet energy that causes certain materials to fluoresce or glow. This is why white clothing, fluorescent paints, minerals, inks, and other UV-reactive materials can appear especially bright under a black light even though the lamp itself may produce relatively little visible light.

Norman Lamps fluorescent black light tubes are a practical choice for customers replacing existing UV fluorescent lamps or building specialty lighting systems around traditional fluorescent fixtures. Depending on the application, customers may use them for black light effects, fluorescent displays, authentication and inspection, insect traps, pest-control equipment, entertainment lighting, and industrial UV applications. When choosing a replacement tube, it is important to match the correct lamp length, wattage, base type, and fixture or ballast requirements to ensure proper performance.
