The Norman Lamps LED-T818-405NBL is an 18W LED T8 blacklight tube engineered as a direct ballast-bypass replacement for standard 32W T8 fluorescent blacklight tubes. Operating on 120VAC to 277VAC input, this LED T8 tube delivers intense UV-A black light output at a peak wavelength of 405nm, producing the signature blue-violet glow that causes fluorescent paints, fabrics, posters, makeup, and UV-reactive coatings to fluoresce brilliantly. Because 405nm sits at the boundary of the visible spectrum and the near-UV range, this LED blacklight tube is well-suited to extended-use environments where personnel may be positioned beneath the fixtures for prolonged periods.

This Type B wiring configuration receives line voltage simultaneously at both ends of the G-13 bi-pin base, eliminating the need for a ballast or starter entirely. Direct-wire installation requires bypassing and removing the existing ballast prior to installation, and the G-13 bi-pin base fits standard 4-foot T8 fluorescent fixture sockets with no mechanical modification required.
