The Norman Lamps F15T8-BL is a 15W T8 black light fluorescent tube engineered to emit long-wave ultraviolet (UVA) radiation with a peak output centered at 350nm. Operating on a ballast-driven circuit, this fluorescent lamp fits any standard G13 medium bi-pin fluorescent fixture and is rated for an average life of 7500 hours of dependable UV output. The tube measures 18.0 inches in overall length with a 1.00-inch diameter, conforming exactly to standard T8 fluorescent tube dimensions.

Unlike Black Light Blue (BLB) tubes, this BL-designation fluorescent lamp uses a white glass envelope rather than a dark blue filter, which allows it to emit both UVA radiation and a degree of visible light. This characteristic makes it well suited for applications where UV output at 350nm is the priority without restricting ambient visible illumination. The 350nm UVA wavelength is particularly effective at attracting flying insects, making this T8 fluorescent tube the preferred replacement for bug zappers, insect traps, and insect-attracting wall sconces. It is also used in industrial inspection processes, including plate exposure, fluorescence-based defect detection, and general UV screening applications.

This fluorescent tube is compatible with preheat, rapid-start, and instant-start ballasts, offering broad fixture compatibility across residential and commercial installations. The lamp directly replaces F15T8/BL and F15T8BL part numbers from major lighting brands including Eiko (15526), GE (35884), Sunlite (38040), Ushio (3000077), Westinghouse (07512), and CEW Lighting (20035). The cross-reference code WS-85 is also applicable. For environments where glass containment is critical, this tube is available with an optional FEP shatter-resistant coating (EL-062S Tuff Coated), providing an added layer of safety in food service, healthcare, and other sensitive settings.

Whether replacing a burned-out bug zapper tube, setting up a Halloween or party blacklight display, or conducting UV-based inspection work, the Norman Lamps F15T8-BL delivers a reliable, industry-standard 350nm UVA fluorescent output in a proven T8 form factor.
